Bundibugyo sits in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains — a Precambrian highland ecosystem where mineral-rich soils, equatorial humidity, and dense forest canopy create the precise agroclimate fine-flavor cacao requires. This is not commodity territory. This is terroir.

Trinitario-influenced genetics give this bar its character: the hardiness of Forastero, the complexity of Criollo — deep earthy base notes layered with quiet stone fruit. At 75% cacao, epicatechin and catechin flavanols are present in meaningful concentration, compounds well-studied for antioxidant activity and cardiovascular support.
